We get this question a lot when people reach out to us before deciding to hire us. They want to know our credentials, and we don’t blame them. You want to make sure that the person drafting your fantasy football team knows what they’re doing.
Let me start out by saying two things. First off, we aren’t Matthew Berry. We don’t have an “in” with NFL administrators and we don’t have any special contacts with players. We have access to the same information that you do. The difference is that most people don’t know exactly HOW MUCH fantasy football information is actually out there. There’s a ton. And it takes a lot of time to sort through. Because fantasy football is a passion of ours, we stay on top of all the latest news. We follow hundreds of NFL insiders on twitter, read several blogs a day, listen to podcasts – we do it all. It’s time consuming, but we love it. So you never have to worry about us not being aware of the latest NFL and fantasy news.
Secondly, we don’t have a crystal ball. We can not predict injuries, strange coaching decisions or flat out bad play. We make the best decisions based on the information that we have. But some years you’re just stung by bad luck. It happens to all of us. We don’t win our own leagues every year and we would caution you against anyone who says that they do.
But here’s where we’re different than the average fantasy football drafter and here’s where we can give you an edge over your competition. We do hundreds of mock drafts every year. We analyze draft tendencies and can usually predict where players will be drafted. But every draft is different, so we are also able to adapt quickly to what is happening in your draft and usually take advantage of the situation. That’s where the “expert” comes from. It’s from our experience doing hundreds of live drafts in a variety of different formats (snake, auction, best ball, keeper, etc.) and scoring systems (PPR, IDP, Bonus points etc.) and crafting the best possible team for you.
Now while we can’t guarantee that you will win your league, we CAN guarantee that you will have a very competitive team, and barring some bad luck, you’ll have a good chance of making the playoffs and even winning your championship.
